Warning: Detergent Overdose

We are guilty of thinking that if a little bit of something is good, a lot of it will only be better. Same goes with laundry detergent. If a capful will get my laundry clean, than 2 capfuls will make it sparkle. Not so much.

Detergent overdose only leads to soapy clothes that look dingy, so many suds that your machine can’t work properly and sometimes, a floor full of suds and water. This is especially important in new front-loading machines. Not to mention that using too much detergent costs you extra money each time you do a load.

My suggestion, start with 1/2 of the recommended amount of detergent. Assess your laundry and see if you’re pleased. I’ll bet that you won’t notice a difference. Your clothes will be clean and you’ll make fewer trips to the store for detergent.
