26 Recipes = 26 Laundry Stains: South Carolina Mustard BBQ Sauce

Say barbecue sauce and you’re sure to start an argument over what type is best – red, yellow, vinegar, a blend. In central South Carolina, the sauce is yellow – mustard-based. Here’s my favorite recipe and how to get out specific stains caused by the ingredients:

SC Mustard BBQ Sauce

• 1 cup prepared yellow mustard
• 1/2 cup cider vinegar
• 1/2 dark brown sugar
• 2 teaspoons paprika
• 1 teaspoon Worcestershire Sauce
• 2 teaspoons pepper
• 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper

Combine all ingredients in a small sauce pan and heat until sugar is completely dissolved. Store in a tightly closed jar in the refrigerator. Great on pork or chicken. Makes about 1 cup.
